Image
Title: Old Magic Author: Marianne Curley Publisher: Simon Pulse Rating: 3 Synopsis (via Goodreads):   Jarrod Thornton is mesmerizing, but Kate Warren doesn't know why.  The moment the new guy walks into the room, Kate senses something strange and intense about him. Something supernatural. Her instincts are proven correct a few minutes later when, bullied by his classmates, Jarrod unknowingly conjures up a freak thunderstorm "inside" their classroom.  Jarrod doesn't believe in the paranormal. When Kate tries to convince him that he has extraordinary powers that need to be harnessed, he only puts up with her "hocus pocus" notions because he finds her captivating. Someone knows that Sawyer and Kevin weren't the perfect couple they seemed to be. And that someone—a killer—is now shadowing Sawyer's every move... Stacking the Shelves is a daily meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews . It features the books recently added to your shelf! (I've decided to participate in Stacking the Shelves other than In My Mailbox simply because Kristi is busy with her baby & her blog is on the back burner - I figured this meme would help me interact with more bloggers which is something I love to do!) For Review: Soul Fire by Aprille Legacy  I have been friends with Aprille on Goodreads since she started to gain attention for her book, Soul Fire , which was originally posted on the site. She made a book trailer, she advertised her book & overall, she worked really hard to make her dream a reality which is the reason I look up to her. (She's also just a great person all around, too). I'm really excited to start reading The Soul Trilogy , despite my growing piles of books I still have to read on my bookshelf & cannot thank Aprille enough for sending me a copy for review. (:  Wh

Never mind that Julie and Bailey were a duet, or that Bailey was their songwriter. The music scouts wanted only Julie, and their parents were content to sit by and let her fulfill her dreams while Bailey’s were hushed away.  Bailey has tried to numb the pain and disappointment over what could have been. And as Julie’s debut album is set to hit the charts, her parents get fed up with Bailey’s antics and ship her off to granddad’s house in Nashville. Playing fiddle in washed-up tribute groups at the
